Death of the Moon

The moon is nature's first clock. Since the dawn of time, people with uteruses have bled, shed, and sat in the abject reality of their biology in alignment with the brightness of the orb in the night sky. The New Moon marks the time of greatest darkness and the start of a new 28-day cycle. In the dark, shadowed truths have an opportunity to emerge so that we may integrate them more fully. They whisper, so we must listen closely. In a society that has traumatized most of us into the disconnection of our mental, emotional, and physical selves in order to serve the capitalist, colonialist, imperialist machine, the reconnection to this Divine clock and the act of sitting in silence is resistance and—ultimately—a bridge to a more equitable, healthy world.

The Death of the Moon is a monthly ritual exploring the revolutionary nature of coming undone in alignment with the darkness of nature. Lead by The Wuum's In-House Esoteric Counselor, artist and anarchist, Jillian Adel, the group will explore astrological, archetypal and anti-capitalist philosophy as an entry point for rooting in the body and venturing into the lesser-worn hallways of self. Combining idea with meditative exploration, the aim is to crack the artifice of our daily shell and allow creative juice to flow to use throughout the duration of the lunation cycle.

Death of the Moon is a monthly written transmission of archetypal breakdown along with esoteric interpretation involving astrological, tarot and Hermetic synthesis, as well as prompts for creative reflection and a suggested ritual.

It is also a monthly ritual held in-person at The WuuM in Los Angeles.
